Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT) - Coming Soon!

I am excited to announce an expansion of my services at Blueprint Therapy Services.

In December 2025, I will be launching specialized, evidence-based treatment for Tic Disorders, including Tourette Syndrome, utilizing Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT).

CBIT is a highly effective, non-medication therapy focused on helping individuals recognize their tics and develop competing behaviors that make the tic difficult to perform.

Evidence Supporting CBIT

CBIT is one of the most rigorously studied treatments for tics, and the evidence is compelling:

  • Highly Effective: Multiple randomized controlled trials show that CBIT produces a significant reduction in tic severity and impairment.

  • Effective as Medication (with Fewer Side Effects): Research demonstrates that the degree of improvement with CBIT is similar to that seen with anti-tic medication studies, but without the negative side effects often associated with pharmaceuticals (like weight gain, fatigue, and sedation).

  • Works with or without Medication: CBIT has been proven effective for patients whether they are taking tic-suppressing medication or not. This means it can be used alone or combined with medication for a comprehensive treatment plan.

  • Applicable Across Age Ranges: Research has shown CBIT to be an effective treatment option for both children and adults.

Why Me? A Personal Commitment to CBIT

I believe the most effective treatment comes from genuine understanding. I know the Tic Disorder journey because I have lived it. As someone who has Tourette Syndrome and a parent of a child with a Tic Disorder, I can attest to the success of CBIT—it changed both our lives. This personal experience fueled my passion to seek professional certification and offer this exact same life-changing intervention to my clients.

I am actively working toward full certification:

  • My Certification: I will be completing my certification in CBIT through the Tourette Association of America (TAA) the first weekend of December 2025.

  • Target Launch: Services for CBIT will begin shortly after certification in December 2025.

Opportunity for Pro Bono Services

To fulfill the final training requirements for my certification, I am seeking 1–2 candidates to receive CBIT at no cost.

This is a unique opportunity to receive full, evidence-based CBIT (6-8 sessions) while I am consulting with experts in the field. This means that I will be reviewing your case and developing the treatment interventions highly experienced CBIT providers.

  • Who is eligible: Individuals with an unwanted Tic or diagnosed Tic disorder.

  • To Inquire: If you or a client may be a candidate for this pro bono service, please contact me directly to discuss eligibility and next steps.
